A Life of Service: Answering the Call to Serve
From an early age, my parents instilled in me the importance of being an active part of the community we live in. I took my first step into volunteer work in high school as a team leader for a March of Dimes Walk team. What began as a single event became a passion—I continued serving as a walk ambassador through high school and for another 15 years. That experience opened my heart to new opportunities, leading me to volunteer on company committees, and community boards like my time on the CBC Board of Trustees. Since coming to Hillspring over 25 years ago, I’ve found ways to use my gifts and passions to advance God’s kingdom on earth.
Today, I’m blessed to serve in multiple ways—on the Worship Team, HR Committee, Stephen’s Ministry, Elder Board, and in leadership support for our Community Engagement ministries. Each role has deepened my faith, strengthened relationships, and reminded me that serving is not just about giving—it’s about receiving the joy and fulfillment that comes from walking alongside others. I feel blessed and humbled to be a part of the amazing things we are doing here at Hillspring.
I believe God calls each of us to use our unique gifts to serve. Whether through music, mentoring, leadership, administration, or outreach, there is a place for everyone to be Jesus' hands and feet. The world is hurting, and we can bring love, hope, and healing through service.
I know that many of our church congregation are involved in acts of service here at Hillspring and our community. I encourage you to consider where God may be leading you to serve prayerfully. Our church and community need your heart, your talents, and your willingness to make a difference. Together, we can shine His light in powerful ways. Where will you serve?
