He is Risen Indeed!

Easter is a busy time for most churches and Hillspring is no exception. We begin Holy Week with Palm Sunday which gives a contrasted look into the betrayal of Jesus before his death. The week following Palm Sunday varies year to year, but recently, Hillspring has begun holding a prayer gathering during the week. We gather, sprititual leaders listen and pray with those who wish to come forward. It is a great way to remember that there is a resurection coming while also showing God’s love to hurting people. Additionally, we observe Good Friday with a reading of scripture of the events leading to Jesus’ death. This year, our Hillspring youth took the reading on and did beautifully. Finally, we celebrate the resurection of Christ with two worship times on Easter. The kids get to have an Easter egg hunt after each worship time. We have an area for taking family photos and there are yummy treats to munch on when you’re waiting to take a picture. We have so much fun on Easter and it makes it that much more special when we spend the week observing the heartache that led to Christ’s resurection. Happy Easter Hillspring!
