Sewing and growing!

Tri-Cities Community Connections (TCCC) and Hillspring Church are excited to announce a new partnership to open a Sewing Center on the Hillspring campus. Hillspring originally mothered TCCC more than fifteen years ago with a vision to engage more deeply in the life of our community. I have had the privilege of helping lead TCCC into a new season that now includes a strong focus on economic development and skill-based empowerment.

This will be the second Sewing Center launched by TCCC. The first operates in partnership with Kennewick First United Methodist Church. The new Sewing Center at Hillspring will officially open on February 21 and will initially offer classes on Saturday mornings and afternoons. The center is equipped with twelve sewing machines for general instruction, along with several specialty machines, including a long-arm quilting machine. Specialty classes will begin in the spring.

This is not the first Sewing Center Hillspring has helped develop. In the fall of 2025, Hillspring launched a Sewing Center in Ojo de Agua. A small group from Hillspring generously donated funds to provide sewing machines and solar power for the village. Men and women, young and old, have participated in the project. I have been amazed by the quality of the work being created, including men’s shirts and baby clothing.

The new Sewing Center at Hillspring will host an Open House on February 15 from 11:00–12:30. All are welcome to attend, learn more about Tri-Cities Community Connections, and explore our various programs.

God is doing great things at Hillspring and in our community.
