God of miracles

I recently shared that there had been some small changes to my personal life. I have added a new dog, Maverick, and our family became a host to an exchange student, Xabier, from Spain. Everything was going great! Then unexpectedly, my husband’s company that he works for closed its doors for good. For a moment, I thought, “It’s time to pack up Xabier’s and Maverick’s bags and send them back!” Lol! Thankfully, my husband remains employed until the end of November.  This change could have had a major impact on our lives… However, God is always ahead of us, orchestrating a better way.

By the time my husband got the news about his job ending, God was already hard at work. Within a few days, we had several offers on the table that gave us assurance and confidence that we would be okay. Talk about God’s perfect timing!

We have been thanking God in advance for this process and how tight we have felt Him holding us. When reality hits—that we don't have anything secured yet (we are still in the waiting process)—the enemy tries to bring us discouragement and anxiety. God is working harder on our behalf and uses others to come alongside us with encouraging words like, “I’m praying for your family and a great offer!”

While things in my personal life are falling into place, God’s ministry has me busy. This grounding helps me focus on what’s really important!

Now that I’m no longer doing Children’s Ministry, I have had more time to meet new people one-on-one. I’ve done several funerals and visited with those struggling. I enjoy this part of my job, especially when God keeps showing up and showing off!

For example, I got a call from a lady whom I had recently met who was struggling physically, emotionally, and mentally. She felt hopeless. I listened to her, I encouraged her, and I prayed for her.

This past Wednesday, she called to thank me for meeting with her. She said, “I have a job now. I’m doing well physically, but I want to thank you for something specifically that you prayed for, and God answered. I remembered every word you said in your prayer for me… I just received a refund check from the IRS from back in 2020, from our business taxes!  I couldn’t believe it!  But then, your words resonated in my mind, and I started crying for they came true! My question to you is, how did you know?!” I said, “To be honest with you, I don’t remember anything from that prayer! Lol! But I do believe what I pray for.  Every prayer is asking God for a blessing over you from my heart.” This gave me an opportunity to minister to her and encouraged her to share this testimony with her family on what God is doing in her life.

God is the God of miracles. Our shared faith experiences significantly affect our lives, giving us hope, strengthening our faith, and giving us confidence that God is hard at work in our lives and the lives of others.

Every Wednesday during Women’s Ministries, we share our praises along with our prayer requests as a large group. This has brought us together as we help carry each other’s burdens in prayer and rejoice with others when God answers our prayers.

Today, as I was writing this, our family got the great news of a great job offer for my husband! Miracles are happening! We are thankful that we were not alone in this. We had our church community behind us.

My prayer is that you know it is okay to be vulnerable and reach out so we can come alongside you as you go through a difficult time. We are all in different seasons of life, and regardless of what we are struggling with, we know we are not alone. Together, we can invite God's Spirit to begin to work.
