Created for Community
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” — Psalm 42:5
The poet in this Psalm felt the weight of God’s distance. His soul was restless, aching for the nearness and comfort of God’s presence. If we’re honest, many of us have walked through seasons like this too: moments when God feels distant, our hearts are heavy, and our souls long for reassurance and hope.
As the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer, our emotions tend to become more profound. But emotions are not a weakness; they are a gift from God. They remind us to pause, to examine, and draw near to Him, and to lean into the spiritually mature people He’s placed in our lives. This is where communitybecomes so important.
Are you in a season where your soul feels unsettled? Has something in your life shifted, leaving you longing for God’s nearness?
God created us for community. We believe that we were never meant to walk through these seasons alone. Community gives us a safe place to bring our weary hearts. It’s where others gently remind us to align our thoughts with Scripture, to recall God’s goodness, and to hold on to His faithfulness. When we gather together, we help one another settle our souls and trust God with the outcomes we can’t control.
God’s steadfast love reaches even into the dark places of our hearts—and often, His nearness and comfort is felt most through the prayers and support of those around us.
Women’s groups doing life together in community
Here are some upcoming opportunities to gather, connect, and be encouraged:
Women’s Bible Study — October 29–December 10.
We are launching a new study with Jennie Allen called “What Women Saw.”This is a wonderful way to build meaningful connections with other women who will encourage, support, and walk with you. We meet Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., with nearly 100 women gathering each week to learn more about Jesus and support one another.Prayer Gathering — November 5
We all need prayer at different points in our lives because life can be hard. No prayer request is too small or insignificant for God. Sometimes the Holy Spirit gently nudges us to reach out for prayer; our part is to respond.
My prayer for you is this: that God will meet your needs—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—right where you are. May He align your thoughts and feelings with His truth and remind you that He is always within reach.
Blessings,
