Live Love Grow

Several years ago, we journeyed through a time of prayer to discern our church vision. God gave us a gift with what we called our DNA Statement, Live, Love, Grow. 

Live 

 As followers of Jesus, we pursue life as God intends. Therefore, we are on an ongoing mission to discover our part in God’s story and join in God’s work in the world. 

Love

We celebrate the joy that can be found only through nurturing authentic relationships. 

Grow

We are committed to growing in our relationship with God and becoming more like Jesus. 

I am so pleased to announce that this past week our elders voted to accept a new set of Core Values: Become, Connect, Develop and Change. 

--We will Become more like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit as we:

--Connect with the people God has put in our lives

--Develop meaningful relationships

--Change our hearts and the world for good.

These values will guide us as we pursue our vision of Live. Love. Grow. guided by a set of supporting core values (practices and behaviors). Please notice how they all center on Become more like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit. Really, Become is spiritual formation as we journey spiritually into God’s work in and through our lives. 

- As we pursue our vision of Love and Live, we will Connect with the people God has put in our lives. As we journey deeper into this call, we will Become more like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit. 

- As we pursue our vision of Live and Grow, we will Develop meaningful relationships. As we journey deeper into this call, we will Become more like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit. 

- As we pursue our vision of Grow and Love, our hearts and the world will Change for good.  As we journey deeper into this call, we will Become more like Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit. 

As this happens, I believe something that Jesus taught us to pray for will happen, it will become more on earth as it is in heaven. 

God has been moving in our congregation in so many ways. One powerful way is a vision of Jesus’ prayer being lived out in and through the people called Hillspring. Become, Connect, Develop and Change aren’t just activities that we want to happen on our church campus.  These are the norms and behaviors we want to be known for as a community, gathered or out in the world at work and play. I believe as this happens, Jesus’ words about it being more on earth as it is in heaven will come to life. I want to invite you to join us as we journey deeper into Jesus’ call with our new series, “On earth as it is in heaven.”
