God's Country Hike

Let’s take a hike to the beautiful Wallula Gap overlook east of Kennewick.  Views include The Columbia River, basalt cliffs, and the Twin Sisters basalt columns on the opposite side of the river.  We’ll be hiking through treeless scrub in an area where wildlife (deer, coyotes, hawks, snakes, etc.) is commonly seen.

The hike is 6 miles round trip from the trailhead, involves roughly 1500 feet of elevation gain over rough ground, and is appropriate for hikers in reasonably good shape over the age of 10.  A broad brimmed hat, good shoes/boots, and plenty of water are suggested.

Meet at Hillspring Church parking lot near the Teen Center at 7:30 carpool to the trailhead.
