“If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin, Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain.”
– Emily Dickinson
Background: I’m excited to join the Sprouts Preschool team this year! I’m the proud wife of a United States Air Force veteran, and we have a 4-year-old son who is a Sprout. I also have four grown children, ages 23-31, and five grandchildren, ages 2-8. Fun family dynamics!
I’ve lived the majority of my life in the Tri-Cities, with short stints in Las Vegas, Nevada and San Antonio, Texas. I previously worked in the career fields of project controls, contract administration, and corporate training. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and am pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education.
My interests include cooking, couponing, and crafting. Our family loves spending many weekends out at the SSSCC autocross track.
What I like most about Hillspring: My dad, Dick Sanders, was a pillar of the church community throughout my childhood and adult life. I love hearing about his powerful impact on others.
Favorite Movie: I’m a huge fan of the entire Planet of the Apes collection.
AHA Moment: Realizing just how fast time passes in life, and how quickly children grow up has made me cherish every moment, even the difficult ones. Don’t blink!
Book I would recommend: Many of my favorite books by sci-fi novelist, Michael Crichton, have been made into movies: Timeline, Congo, Sphere, Twister, Jurassic Park, and The Lost World. My children grew up on books both authored and illustrated by David Shannon. Most loved is No, David and A Bad Case of Stripes.
